After the rather massive sell-out success of the previous Junction Alley Festival, we’re back on August 27th, 2016 with a whole suite of hot acts & epic art.
We're welcoming back our signature blend of sweet live and electronic tunes, eye-bending visual artists, scrumptious street foods and boozy treats... Except this time with a few cherries on top (stay tuned!)
ROUND 1 - MUSIC:
VAUDEVILLE SMASH
From the back of SXSW festival and a string of smash hit singles, internationally renowned Vaudeville Smash are a disco-flute-funk fuelled monster that MUST be seen live.
BULLHORN
HIGH ENERGY. That’s what you can expect from Bullhorn's 7 horns, boss drummers and monster MC. Rich sonic textures of funk, soul, hip hop, jazz, reggae and dance make for a rumbling live show.
COPYCATT
Winner of Triple J’s Unearthed Playschool remix comp, nuff said right? Seriously though, this 19-year-old wizzkid of a producer, inspired by the likes of KOAN sound, Madlib & Skrillex is in the national spotlight for good reason.
SWITCHKRAFT
A mangled cacophony of electronic symphony boasting members of Tijuana Cartel, this is a music project like no other. Crafty vinyl mining, luscious instrumental samples and loads of bounce, don’t be surprised if you hear some gypsy swing, russian pola, vintage hawaiian hymns and 1920’s big band. Yah, it’s different and it’s good.
JIMMY DAVIS
With Big heart and Big Soul, Jimmy packs a lot of sound for one guy. With backing from his trademark 12 string guitar, Jimmy is a songwriter with a unique balance of power and delicacy, and a damn joy to listen to. Plus he once had a go at Guy Sebastian, so he's a legend in our books!
