Maleny Quilt Show
The Maleny Arts and Crafts Group Quilters will hold their biennial Quilt Show at the Main Pavilion, Maleny Showgrounds on Saturday and Sunday 24th and 25th September.
The four years since our last quilt show (2020 cancelled due to Covid) has gone quickly but the members have been busy and there will be a great range of quilts on display.
Quilts on display will include traditional, modern and art quilts. Some will be hand quilted and some machine quiltied. Some will be small, some will be large and there will be lots in between. Visitors will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite quilt.
The first prize in the raffle is a teal and white quilt made by the members, second prize is a Bernette sewing machine donated by Bernina and Kimz Patchwork & Sewing, and third prize is a lap Quilt Kit including fabric and pattern donated by members of the Quilting Group.
Members' challenge quilts will also be on display, with the theme of re-use and recycle, and a Christmas display on the main stage.
There will also be a fantastic traders' alley giving visitors the opportunity to purchase fabric and other quilting notions, and a sales table with items handmade by members.
Entry is $5 for adults which includes a complimentary cup of tea or coffee. There will be cakes, slices and sandwiches available to purchase. The Quilt Show will be open 9am-4pm on Saturday and 9am-3pm on Sunday.
